Build an empire that will last for thousands of years in strategy city builder Memoriapolis-
In most city builders I usually wind up feeling like an urban planner or a mayor. In Memoriapolis, which launched into early access on Steam today, I feel more like a god-emperor because the city I’m managing isn’t just going to grow and expand for a few years or decades or even centuries, but for millenia.
There’s a bit of Civ in this new strategy city builder, in other words. You’re doing some traditional survival city builder stuff by building farms, quarries, and woodcutters, harvesting resources and using them to expand, setting up trade routes and expanding your buildable territory—but you’re also shaping your city’s culture and managing mega-construction projects called “Wonders” as you grow from the age of antiquity to medieval times and beyond.
I played a bit of Memoriapolis this week and it’s doing some interesting stuff. You don’t have to micromanage quite as much as in most other city builders, though that’s a bit of a double-edged sword. You don’t buil…

Life By You aims to be ‘one of the most moddable and open life-simulation games’ ever made-
Paradox Interactive teased a new open-world Sims-alike called Life By You earlier this month, with the promise of a fuller reveal set for a livestream on March 20. Today is the day, and we’ve now got a clearer picture of what’s in store: Paradox says that Life By You will be “one of the most moddable and open life-simulation games” ever made.
One big difference between Life By You and The Sims is that players will be able to shift from third-person to “direct control gameplay,” which Paradox claims will enable players to connect with their in-game avatars “on an emotional level.” That connection will be further strengthened by the use of “real language conversations” in the game, a very distinct difference from the nonsensical Simlish faux-language used in The Sims.
“Life by You evolves the life simulation genre with modern style, real language conversation, and unprecedented freedom of expression,” Paradox Tectonic general manager Rod Humble said.

Helldivers 2 boss turns to the community for an Eagle stratagem brainstorming session- ‘This is way more fun than a conference room’-
Even if Arrowhead is signaling a move towards a slower, more sustainable pace of Helldivers 2 updates, you can never have too many ideas to work with when you’re dreaming up the next installment of Super Earth ordinance. Arrowhead chief creative officer Johan Pilestedt seems to think so, at least. Taking to Twitter over the weekend, Pilestedt put out a call asking for the community’s best ideas for Eagle air support stratagems.
Helldivers 2 fans were more than happy to provide their creative input. At time of writing, Pilestedt’s request for stratagem ideas has gotten over 5,000 replies. Suggestions range from Dr. Strangelove references to simple requests for punchier strafing run audio. And unsurprisingly, some took the opportunity to air their grievances about balance changes.
Here’s some highlights from the fan stratagem brainstorm:

George Carlin’s estate sues over ghoulish AI routine featuring the late comedian’s likeness and, surprise surprise, turns out it was written by a human-
The late George Carlin was one of the greatest actors and comedians of his era, with roles too numerous to list, and died at the age of 71 in 2008. Such was Carlin’s industry and volume of work that he remains a recognisable and beloved figure to this day, which may be why a podcast called Dudesy recently decided to use his likeness in an apparently AI-authored one hour comedy special titled, and this is almost unbelievable, “George Carlin: I’m Glad I’m Dead.”
The special itself is a slurry of sub-Carlin jokes set to AI-generated stills, with the software doing a weird impression of the comedian’s voice. There’s no imagery of Carlin himself other than a presumably AI-generated thumbnail showing a man with Carlin’s distinctive grey ponytail. The backlash to this was instantaneous and widespread, with his daughter Kelly Carlin saying no permission was sought or granted, and “no machine will ever replace his genius […] Humans are so afraid of the void that we can’t…
